Unifor to hold media availability on GTA Metro workers strike

Toronto—National and local Unifor leaders and front-line Metro grocery workers will hold a media availability on Saturday, July 29, at 10:30 a.m. at a Metro store picket line.

WHO:  Lana Payne, Unifor National President,
            Gord Currie, Unifor Local 414 President, and
            frontline Metro grocery workers

WHEN: Saturday, July 29, 2023, 10:30 a.m.

WHERE: Metro grocery store picket line (3003 Danforth Ave, Toronto, Ontario M4C IM9)

Metro stores impacted by the strike will include those in Toronto, Brantford, Orangeville, Milton, Oakville, Brampton, North York, Islington, Willowdale, Mississauga, Etobicoke, Newmarket, and Scarborough.

Unifor Local 414 represents 3,700 Metro workers who are full and part-time store clerks in all departments, including cashiers, as well as department managers, pharmacy, and Starbucks staff.
