Workers at Novatech, a glass manufacturer, ratified a new four-year collective agreement. The 80 workers, members of Unifor Local 299, accepted the new agreement after 14 days of negotiations and two strike votes.

“We’re proud of these workers for staying committed to what they deserved,” said Unifor’s Quebec Director, Renaud Gagné. “As a result, they’ve achieved a strong contract with improvements on many fronts.”

The agreement includes a wage increase of 3 per cent in the first year, 2.3 in the second, 2.45 in the third, and 2.5 in the final. There’s an additional week of vacation time, and increased allocation for security equipment.
