REGINA, March 24, 2016 /CNW/ - Rampant privatization under the Saskatchewan Party government has prompted supporters of crown corporations and public services to hold a mid-election rally. Unifor and its allies are demanding a clear statement of support for publicly-controlled crown corporations from all political parties.
"Creeping privatization under the Sask Party government has put private shareholder profit above the needs of Saskatchewan families," said Dave Kuntz, President of Unifor Local 1S representing workers at SaskTel in Regina. "Strong crown corporations are critical to affordability in Saskatchewan."

Unifor is Canada's largest union in the private sector, representing more than 310,000 workers. It was formed Labour Day weekend 2013 when the Canadian Auto Workers and the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers unions merged.
