PRINCE GEORGE, BC, April 11, 2014 /CNW/ - Unifor and other organizations representing the forestry industry will be hosting a community discussion on the future of Northern British Columbia's forests.
The discussion about BC's forestry industry comes on the heels of a $500-million investment in New Brunswick's forestry plan and the anticipated re-opening of a pulp mill in Chetwynd, BC.
"How we manage our forests will determine prosperity and sustainability in the north for generations to come," said Scott Doherty, assistant to the Unifor national president. "We can't wait for government to act—northern communities are taking charge and demanding action."
