REGINA - Unifor members from seven crown corporations will send a strong message to the Saskatchewan government on Saturday May 4: The clock is ticking and we deserve a fair collective agreement!
Five thousand Unifor members work at SaskTel, SaskEnergy, SaskPower, SaskWater, the Saskatchewan Water Authority, Directwest and SecurTek. All have expired collective agreements.
The province is attempting to impose an insulting wage increase on Crown employees. Meanwhile, provincial revenues have grown and so have MLAs pay cheques. Their basic annual income rose to more than $111,000 in April, a 2.3 percent increase.
Members of the media are invited to join as Unifor workers, their friends and families from across the province gather for a rally and picnic in Regina in a show of strength and solidarity.
